Yoga, an ancient tradition, a modern solution…
Yoga is an ancient mind-body- spirit tradition that can offer practical perspectives and appropriate tools and techniques to help meet life’s challenges as you are now. Yoga meets you where you are at the moment. You do not have to be “in shape”, “flexible”, or “strong” to practice yoga. Before an appointment, consider what you would like to gain from practicing yoga. That may include physical, mental or spiritual health and well being. In most cases, we will be preparing a customized yoga practice that may include postures, breath and meditation.
Yoga is strong medicine, but it is important to understand that it is slow medicine. Though many experience immediate effects, the long term effects are far greater. Yoga builds on itself, becoming more effective over time. Unlike most drugs or surgery, which often gradually diminish in effectiveness, Yoga starts off slow and builds and increases in effectiveness over time and practice.
Considering individual needs, taking into account the whole person, a holistic approach is used to reach individual short and long term goals. Expect to learn how to develop a home practice. So while there is an upfront cost with private sessions, expect to establish new healthier habits to last a lifetime. It is a journey and your journey is specific to your story
